Revive Those Tired Eyes!

I looked in the mirror this morning and realized, much to my dismay, that I've got enough luggage under my eyes to take not one, but TWO trips around the world
 ~ Not good!

So, if you're anything like me, you're definitely feeling the effect of the dreaded Daylight Savings time change and too much computer usage, most likely right under your eyes.
Although it's great to see the sun out for a longer period of time, it sure does take a toll on our much-needed beauty rest.

Even if you reside in a place where Daylight Savings is non-existent, and just want a quick pick-me-up that'll help revive those tired eyes and shake off that sluggish feeling, try this great home remedy ...

What you'll need :
  • Teapot
  • Tea Kettle with boiling water
  • Diffuser
  • 5 heaping tablespoons of fresh, chopped mint leaves
  • 1 Chamomile teabag or 1 heaping teaspoon of loose chamomile tea
  • Ice cube trays (enough to hold 24 ice cubes)

First, boil some water in your tea kettle and let
sit while you prepare. Next, chop up some fresh mint (enough for about 5 heaping tablespoons).  Now, take your diffuser and place it in your teapot. Place the fresh, chopped mint leaves and 1 chamomile teabag or 1 heaping tablespoon of loose chamomile tea, in the diffuser. Pour the water from your tea kettle into your teapot, cover the teapot, and let steep for about 10 minutes, or until lukewarm. Once tea is cooled, remove the diffuser and pour the tea from your teapot into ice cube trays
(this should yield about 24 ice cubes).

Place ice trays in freezer and wait about 5 hours. Once ice cubes are completely frozen, remove from icetray and place desired quantity in a bowl. I like to use cheesecloth and wrap each cube in it, but if it's too cold for you, you can wrap each cube in a paper towel and once slightly damp, place over eyes.

The calming and soothing effect of the chamomile paired with the fresh feeling of the mint are the perfect fix for your tired eyes and also helps in getting rid of dark circles. Additionally, the cool ice helps constrict blood vessels, which in turn aids in getting rid of that unsightly puffiness!

Voila! Now you're relaxed and your gourgeous eyes are
VIBRANT and REVIVED !

Keep leftover ice cubes in the freezer for another day of pampering or throw some in your water for a refreshing kick!

Enjoy :)
